Upload of data and the start up of Simile models

There are two Issues I like to report on:

1)  With the instalation of the new release of the 5.8 Simile version my models are no longer starting up just clicking on their icons.  The have to be started from the "open" command from an untitele (or already opened) model.

2)  On loading data using the parameter window:

If a time series is uploaded, Non timeseries data loaded later to populate a different parameter creates an empty collumn containing the word "interpolate" or any of the other words that relate to the timeseries settings.  This causes an error message.

Hope I was clear to describe these problems!

Upload of data and the start up of Simile models

Hi Roel,

I am about to patch the Windows version to fix a problem that appears when the input language is set to Korean. I shall try to include fixes to these problems as well. I had already found and fixed the issue with doubleclicking models to start Simile. I am not able to reproduce the issue with loading time series; can you please explain in detail how to make it happen, attaching relevant files if necessary?

Hi Jasper!

Great, I wait patiently then for the double click start issue.  On the other issue, I insert a screenshot here to show you the problem. The first collumn in the table editor does not have a number and carries the word "interpolate" on the last row.  The data that come with model wherein this happens is rather large (mulitple datasets).  So If you are interested to have access to it let me know and I will share the dropbox with you where it resides.

Hope everything else is still OK in Scotland.  Still trying to talk people into buying me the 64bit version.  No luck yet! Love to try it out on my new gaming computer.

I've now been able to reproduce this bug, and will get on with fixing it for the patch. In the mean time, the workaround is to load all your spatial data before doing the time series. When it is all loaded, you can save the setup as a parameter metafile, which can be used to load all the data into the model without problems when you start it on a later occasion.

Thanks for reporting this problem; it looks to me like you might be having a problem with file attachments on this site! I'll try and attach a couple myself, and get that fixed too.

Jasper,

That indeed is what I had figured to get around this problem.  I am happy you are fixing the bug as I am using the parameter window for my clients to be able to upload a variety of scenario files.  I don't recall putting an attachment in last in (I copied a screenshot in the message).  You like for me see if attachments work here?

Looking forward to the repair!

Roel

OK, I've uploaded a patched version now which fixes your issues plus a few other niggles. Get it by following your original download instructions, and let me know how it works!
