Download locked

Dear Jasper,

I come back to you about my download link that is locked for Simile. My PhD student Benoit Othoniel wrote to you last time by email.
Again, I ascertain you that we are the only users of the license we purchased, and the numerous downloads we did were only due to technical issues from our side that forced us to re-install the program several times before it works.
Therefore, in case this is OK for you, I would appreciate if you could re-activate this link soon so we can upgrade Simile and enjoy the last functionalities you developed.

Release notes

Adds functions required by XMILE model interchange format. See Simile Version 6.6 Released for more info.

PEST error for parameter estimation

Dear Jasper,

As I would like to use PEST to calibrate my model, I encounter an error everytime I try it:
"can't read "runData(node00000,bestPhi)": no such element in array"

Mac version of Simile 6.6 hangs intermittently

Hi

I am currently using Simile 6.6 to teaching ecological modelling to a class of 4th year undergraduates and MSc's.

Two students with Macs are having issues with simile hanging or unexpectedly closing. It doesn't appear to be related to any one action that they are doing. The model they are working with is simple (one compartment, a couple of flows and variables).

Do you have any other issues like this and can you suggest a fix?

Below are details of the machine for one of the students and the first lines of the error report.

All the best

Jon

R package installation: error package ame_dll missing for use.simile.at

Hello,

I try to install the R package for Simile, but get an error using use.simile.at:

> use.simile.at("C:/Program Files (x86)/Simile6.1")
Error in structure(.External(.C_dotTclObjv, objv), class = "tclObj") :
[tcl] can't find package Ame_dll.

And indeed, no Ame_dll package is present in the Simile folder.

Simile 6.6 hanging on a Mac

Hi

I am currently running an ecological modelling class of 4th year undergrad students. A couple of students with Macs are having issues with Simile hanging.

Below is an error report from one computer and here is the information about the system.

Are there any known bugs causing this beghaviour, and is there a work around that I can give to the students affected?

All the best

Jon

Unable to compile models with Simile 6.6

Hello,

I installed the last version of Simile Enterprise 6.6 32 bit on my computer under Windows 7 and I cannot run any model anymore. An error occurs systematically when compiling the model. It seems there is a problem with the installation of mingw.

Here is an example of the reported error (your example forest.sml):

The compiler raised a problem with the code generated for this model.

It may help to try the 'Debug' option.

Download blocked

Dear administrator,

I was trying to download the last version of Simile Enterprise 6.6 from my update page, but I received the following message:

"You have downloaded this file from too many different locations. Please contact the site administrator if this message has been received in error."

Is it due to the fact that I have a new laptop or that I am working from different locations with it? I did not give my account details to anyone else...

In any case, please give me access again to my download page.

Best regards,

François Gillet

Simile version 6.6.Released

Ths version has two main purposes:

  • To incorporate new functions allowing Simile to conform to the core XMILE standard
  • To improve memory management, enabling very large models to be edited and executed more easily.

XMILE

XMILE is a new standard, currently under development, enabling system dynamics models to be exchanged between a variety of modelling tools. It will also allow models to be processed by a range of data presentation and comparison tools.

Cannot Download v 6.5

I have been using another modeling package for a few months and now need to return to Simile.  I noted the release of 6.5, but am only now in need of the new version.  When attempt to download v 6.x  on the my files page (is this even 6.5?), which i have never downloaded, I get a message that I have downloaded this in "too many locations"?  I am downloading to the same computers (a laptop and a desktop) I have always used.  I am however on sabbatical and am working from home.   Can you please help me to access the new version?   Thanks!   -- Steve Hodges
