This version introduces the ability for a Simile submodel to implement a connection to a separate program via a named pipe or Unix socket. This means that models developed in other tools can be used as components in Simile models.
A new series of Video tutorials, commissioned by World Agroforestry (ICRAF), have been created for Simile. They include a starter on the basics of system dynamic modelling in ecosystem study, and go on to cover advanced Simile techniques such as discrete event-based and agent-based modelling.
