Parallel computing in SIMILE

I'm currently developing a large seagrass growth model for Tampa Bat Fl.  I have created a unit model and have coupled it to a hexagon grid. For the detail that I need I use 1000000 hexagons which will make the model run for ever.  However i am considering dividing up the Bay into 10 to 20 more locallized hexagon  grids that I could run in paralell using the a single unit model.  Is there any way to do this within SIMILE or am I going to have to be more creative.

Running models : Working with visualization tools : Edit sketch graph function

Standard helpers : edit sketch graph function

If your model contains equations that use the graph function, their function can be altered while the model is running. The tool for doing this appears as a helper, although it does not display values from the model or directly set them.

direction of flows

HI!.

I need some help related to the nature of flow's direction. I am trying to simulate with a boolean expresion (if) for the direction of a flow depending on concentrations of substrtate between compartments: i.e. If comp A=10 and compB= 20 the flow goes from B to A; else if comp A=20 and B=10 then flow is reversed, from A to B.

cant install SIMILE

 Hi,

I downloaded the free trial version of SIMILE 5.5. Unfortunately, I can't install it in my laptop. I am using Mac OS 10.6.1 (Snow Leopard).

The error says:

Simile error: Simile encountered an unexpected problem: couldn't open "../Run/userinfo.txt": read-only file system

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

Respectfully yours,

Sev

Difficulties with the starting of Simile

Dear Simile support team,

I just bought a license for using Simile standard edition. However, I could not run and save a model, nor open an existing model. Below you’ll find the messages I received from Simile. Could you please give me a hand on that?

Opening large models in Simile 5.5 different problem (finding correct submodel properties and out of bounds array error)

I have a model that had 150 layers in 5.0.  It still has the appropriate number of layers but when you bring up propertires for the submodel it only indicates 1 layer.  If you change the 1 to 150 you end up with a 150,150 xy grid.  Alos I have another problem that may not be related to 5.5.  In this model I calculate the diffusion of several compounds into a sediment profile.  After you compile the initial data should show numbers up to 09 layers and zeros after.  This happens in all cases but for O2 which has a negative number in thwe last layer (150).  I cannot determine why it is there.

5.5 UPgrade

I am also finding that my large programs will not open.  So I am sending you versions of the same model at different levesls of development for you to play with.
